About the course

Our exciting UAL Level 2 Award in Creative Media Production & Technology has been developed to provide you with a hands on experience and an understanding of the basics of Games Design.

Think of these questions: How are games made? What are the processes professionals use during a production? These are the things you will learn on the course.

This course will look at the fundamentals of game design with a focus on the glory days of gaming, the 90s. We will be using the online games engine ‘Construct 3’ as not only is it accessible to someone that doesn’t have access to the latest in computer tech, its visual scripting and built in tools can be used to create engaging user experiences. Some examples of fully released Construct 3 games are, Sheepy: A short adventure, 2024 Aviary Attorney, 2015 which have all been well received on Steam and other platforms. Honourable mention to Mighty Goose, 2021.

This course is also a potential steppingstone into further games design learning at Level 3 and above.
