How is the course delivered and assessed?
Your commitment of just 1.5 – 2.5 hours per week depending on course levels, will be dedicated to attending our engaging weekly lessons. During these sessions, your tutor will assign individual or group work, providing valuable guidance and feedback. At our college, we prioritise self-development and foster an atmosphere conducive to learning.
What do I need to join (Entry Requirements)
When you enquire about the course, you will be invited to attend an initial Advice, Guidance and Assessment session. Following this, you will have a discussion with one of the English Team, who will provide feedback on your assessment and information on the course you will be offered.

Course Structure: • These courses are primarily classroom-based, led by experienced tutors who are dedicated to your success. • Additionally, our English and Maths Skills Development department offers personalised one-on-one support, Advice, and Guidance specific to English and Maths. Course Fees Part time Adult Functional Skills English course is free if you: • Are over the age of 19 • Have not yet passed GCSE English in grade 4 or C • Have not yet passed English Functional Skills Level 2 • Are UK resident and have lived in the UK in the past 3 years • Are EAA resident or are eligible for the funding. College will ask your residency cards, share code or relevant documents for eligibility check before course starts.
