About the course

The Gateway Level 2 Award in Computer Programming is designed for learners who want to build on their basic digital skills and develop a practical understanding of how computer programs are created and used. This course introduces key programming concepts and supports learners to develop confidence in writing and understanding text based code, preparing them for further study or progression within the digital sector.

Course content

Learners will develop both knowledge and practical skills in computer programming, including:

This course is delivered through a blended learning approach combining:

Assessment is through a Portfolio of Evidence, based on practical tasks and programming projects completed throughout the course.

What do I need to join

Applicants should have:

  • A Level 1 Award in Introduction to Computer Programming, or
  • Equivalent basic knowledge and understanding of computer programming
