The Embroidered Landscapes and Drawing Basics course blends drawing fundamentals with scenic embroidery to help you bring natural forms and textures to life. Designed for beginners and those looking to deepen their creative practice, this course provides a nurturing environment to build skills in sketching landscapes and transforming them into beautiful stitched artwork.
You will have the opportunity to explore:
• Basics of landscape
sketching, including shapes, textures, and details.
• Techniques to
transition from sketches to embroidery.
• Layering stitches to add depth
and realism to scenes.
• How to select and blend colours for natural
effects.
• Developing original designs inspired by nature.
There are no formal assessments.
The course will run for 3 Weeks, 5 hours a week – 2.5 hours on a Tuesday & 2.5 on a Thursday
Students will work towards a personal Tailored Learning Outcome regarding their physical health, mental health and developing stronger communities. During the beginning of the course, the tutor will spend 1:1 time with students to determine which learning outcome they would like to work towards.
Teaching will be delivered through a series of online workshops (via Microsoft Teams) and You will learn by observing demonstrations, group discussions, and by exploring new techniques with expert support. You will learn a great deal by experimenting and recording your own progress. Your tutor will always check your progress and help you with technical solutions.

Tier 3 - £50 (£60 stained glass)
Income – Between £27,000 and £30,000

CloseThe Advanced Learner Loan assists adults aged 19 and over in covering tuition costs for Level 3 to Level 6 qualifications. Before applying, individuals are advised to check eligibility for free funding options, as taking the loan may impact future entitlements.
