About the course

The Level 2 qualification is a one-year course designed to provide learners with both practical experience and theoretical knowledge related to electrical installation. Throughout the course, you will practice and be assessed on the installation of wiring systems within a secure environment. The curriculum also covers the essential theory associated with electrical installation, ensuring that you develop a comprehensive understanding of the subject.

This Level 2 diploma is a one-year course and allows the learner to practice and be assessed in a secure environment on the installation of wiring systems, together with the relevant theory of electrical installation.

You will study the following mandatory content:

  • Health and safety and Industry Practices
  • Electrical Science
  • Electrical installation methods, procedures and requirements
  • Electrical Technology

To gain this qualification, learners must successfully achieve 5 mandatory units, including the related 4 on-screen examinations, 2 centre-marked assignment and 4 practical test for each unit

This Technical Level 2 Certification includes the following mandatory content:

  • Health and Safety and Industry Practices,
  • Electrical Science,
  • Electrical Installation Methods,
  • Procedures and Requirements
  • Electrical Technology.

To gain this qualification, you must successfully complete five mandatory units. This includes passing the related on-screen examinations, completing a centre-marked assignment and performing a practical test for each unit. Additionally, you will need to achieve the specified synoptic assessment.


 

What do I need to join
As well as having a keen interest in the subject area, learners will need to possess GCSE grade 4 in both English and Maths. Ideally, learners will have completed a Level 1 electrical qualification or be able to demonstrate knowledge of the trade and complete a skills assessment. Learners will need to be committed, punctual and demonstrate an enthusiasm for learning and taking on new ideas and skills.
What can I do next
Upon successfully completing this course, you can progress to a Level 3 course in a related discipline or choose an apprenticeship to gain practical experience and further develop your skills. Career opportunities include roles in electrical work, electronics, renewable technologies and electrical or mechanical engineering.
