About the course
If you’re creative and want to turn your ideas into a future career, this course gives you the skills, confidence, and experience to move forward. Equivalent to three A Levels, the Level 3 Extended Diploma prepares you for higher education, apprenticeships, or entry-level roles in the creative industries.
Course content
Throughout the course, you will explore the creative industries while developing your own individual creative practice. You will build confidence in generating ideas, experimenting with materials and techniques, and responding to creative briefs.
- Develop a strong foundation in art, design and communication
- Explore how creative ideas are formed through research, experimentation and problem-solving
- Work with a range of materials, processes and creative techniques
- Build industry-relevant skills through practical, project-based learning
- Choose and develop a specialist area of creative practice that reflects your interests and career goals
As you progress through the course, you will work more independently, refining your skills and learning how to support and sustain your own creative practice in preparation for higher education or employment in the creative industries.
What do I need to join
To join this course, you should have a genuine interest in creative practice and be ready to show enthusiasm, commitment and curiosity. You will be asked to bring a portfolio of recent work to your interview so you can share your ideas and creative development.

- Progress onto the UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication
