Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing emails, correspondence, records, and files
  • Supporting day-to-day operations and business processes
  • Coordinating meetings, diaries, and documentation
  • Processing data, maintaining systems, and producing basic reports
  • Liaising with colleagues and clients
  • Supporting compliance, policies, and internal procedures where required

A Business Administrator is expected to be organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities. Strong communication skills, IT competence (e.g. Microsoft Office), and professionalism is essential. The role provides a solid foundation for progression into a variety of positions.

Your training plan

You will be required to attend the Filton Campus of SGS College on a Monday AM for approx. 12 sessions for your studies towards your Diploma and an assessor will visit you out on site. You will be assigned a supervisor / mentor within the workplace, who will support you to develop your workplace skills, knowledge and behaviours throughout the duration of your apprenticeship programme.
