Tuition Fees

16-18

Between the ages of 16-18 you do not need to pay tuition or exam fees for your course.

19-23

If you are between the ages of 19 and 23 and have not achieved a full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification before, then you may be entitled to a Legal Entitlement to cover the cost of your tuition, exam and material fees.

19+ (English or Maths Course etc.)

If you are 19 or over and taking an English or Maths course up to an including Level 2, and have not previously achieved a GCSE Grade A* to C or grade 4 or higher, then you may be entitled to a Legal Entitlement to cover the cost of your tuition, exam and material fees.

19+ (Level 2 Course or Below etc.)

If you are aged 19 or over and studying a level 2 course or below, you may be entitled to a Low Income/Benefit Waiver. If awarded, this Waiver will cover your tuition, exam and material fees.

19+ (Level 3 Course or Above etc.)

If you are aged 19 or over and studying on a level 3 course or above, and the Level 3 Legal Entitlement does not apply, you will need to pay the full cost of the course. You may however be eligible to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with the tuition fees.

Please make arrangements to pay your course fee costs at the time of enrolment. Payment is due prior to the start of your course. The option to pay via an instalment plan is available if required. Please contact the College directly for the most up to date course fees – these may be subject to change.

Summary

Are you a people person who thrives when engaging with customers and colleagues? Do you hope to experience new countries and cultures that you have never experienced before? This course offers you the unique opportunity to engage with the real world of travel and tourism through work experience, by hearing from guest speakers from industry and by taking advantage of our links with employers. The course requires you to be enthusiastic and dedicated to the air industry, with a clear progression route into travel and tourism.

This is a flexible course in which you can opt to study either a 1-year, 90-credit Diploma equivalent to 1.5 A-levels, or the two year Extended Diploma (which is equivalent to 3 A-levels). The list below contains a snapshot of the core and additional units you will study:

  • Investigating the travel and tourism industry
  • European destinations
  • Long-haul travel destinations
  • Business travel operations

You will also complete a residential study visit to a European destination or an internship in Seville, Spain.

What do I need to join?

You will need 4 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English and Maths.

How will I know how I am doing?

You will receive continuous reviews, along with full and regular feedback from your tutor, to ensure you are on track and ready for your next step. Feedback will be verbal, written or electronic and is designed to support you on your course and help you to achieve the results that you need.

Maths & English

A key requirement for obtaining many jobs is to achieve a good standard of English and maths. Therefore, learners that do not yet have a GCSE grade C will be enrolled on either GCSE or functional skills programmes alongside their main course.

Employability

You will have the opportunity to complete additional qualifications that will increase your functional skills and work experience.

All students are guaranteed an interview with a national hotel chain on completion of their course.

This course offers you the unique opportunity to engage with the real world of travel and tourism through work experience, by hearing from guest speakers from industry and by taking advantage of our links with employers. The course requires you to be enthusiastic and dedicated to the air industry, with a clear progression route into travel and tourism.

Learners can progress onto a university-level course or an apprenticeship, or move directly into employment.
