Level 2 Travel and Tourism requires you to have an interest in other cultures, countries and the travel and Tourism industry as a whole. This Level 2 qualification provides a detailed study of the travel and tourism industry. The qualification is designed to provide you with a solid understanding of the tourism industry and the additional skills needed to progress into the next study level or to secure employment.
You will study a range of subjects to give you an insight into the industry, including:
- Worldwide and UK destinations
- Principles of customer service in hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism
- Travel and Tourism support services and visitor attractions.
What do I need to join?
You will need 4 GCSEs at grade 4 (D) or above, with English and Maths being desirable.
How will I know how I am doing?
You will receive continuous reviews, along with full and regular feedback from your tutor, to ensure you are on track and ready for your next step. Feedback will be verbal, written or electronic and is designed to support you on your course and to help you achieve the results that you need.
Maths & English
You will also complete qualifications in maths and English alongside your main course.
Learners have the opportunity to have an interview with a local hotel which the course has relationships with. Learners can go on to work within the various sectors of the Travel and Tourism industries. These include hospitality Travel agents and local attractions.
All learners have the opportunity to take part in one week work experience within local Travel and Tourism organisations.
What can I do next?
Upon successful completion of the Level 2 qualification, learners can either gain employment in the industry or, alternatively, finish their studies at SGS by completing the full Level 3 Diploma.
