If you are interested in travelling and have a passion for flying, this exciting full time programme is aimed at those who are aged 18 on completion of the course and who would like to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of the role of Air Cabin Crew, although you will develop skills that are transferable across many Travel and Tourism sectors. You will also have the opportunity to train at an airline training facility.
How will I know how I am doing?
The course is taught by industry professionals, which gives you first-hand knowledge and experience from people who have worked in the industry to enable you to develop your full potential. We have a designated classroom, which includes aircraft cabin seats and equipment. You will recreate many real-work scenarios including inflight cabin service, and safety and emergency procedures. You will be assessed in a variety of ways throughout the course including practical assessments/observations, presentations and written assignments.
What do I need to join?
As well as having a keen interest in the subject area, learners will need to possess at least four GCSEs, including grade 4 in both English and Maths. Learners will need to be 18 years old on completion of the course, be committed and punctual, demonstrate an enthusiasm for learning and taking on new ideas and skills, and have the ability to swim at least 25 metres.
Maths & English
You will need to have GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 ( C ) or above. You may also have the opportunity to re-sit one of these alongside your course. You will be given more specific advice and guidance on pre-entry.
You will learn about the airline recruitment process and how to apply for jobs. Many of our students progress straight into employment with both short-haul and long-haul airlines as Cabin Crew, whilst others go on to enjoy a career at the Airport.
As part of your overall programme of study, learners will be required to undertake a period of work placement related to the field of employment they wish to enter.
What can I do next?
Learners who successfully complete the programme can gain employment as Air Cabin Crew or enter the Aviation or Hospitality industries. Successful completion will also allow learners to progress further with their Travel and Tourism qualifications.
In line with industry standards, you will understand the importance of good personal presentation and customer service skills and will be required to wear a uniform (full details will be given when accepted onto the course).
