In2Sport offers tailored education and support for individuals with criminal justice experience or addiction recovery, helping them reintegrate and gain employment in the sports and fitness industry.
The In2Sport programme is designed to provide education to individuals with experience of the criminal justice system or those overcoming addiction.
The programme supports individuals to re-integrate into education and society, aiming to equip learners with the skills, knowledge and behaviours to gain employment within the sport, health and fitness industry.
The programme is divided into two stages.
The first year of the programme supports learners to complete three qualifications across the academic year; Level 1 Extended Certificate in Vocational Studies, Level 1 Certificate in Personal Wellbeing and Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing. This package of education covers the holistic development of learners to gain knowledge and skills required to work in the fitness industry, whilst placing a focus on their own personal wellbeing and interpersonal skills. The second year of the programme provides a progression route into further study, completing Level 3 Personal Training and Level 1 Employability Skills qualification. The sessions encompass 'learning by doing', combining theory with applied practical sessions.
At SGS, we pride ourselves on the diverse links that we have with local employers.
We work closely with providers in Bristol and South Gloucestershire to inform our programme design to ensure that it meets local needs. The programme has links to CFO Activity Hub, ARA and Alliance of Sport. Read more - Read More Here.
The programme is suitable for those currently on probation, those with a previous criminal record or anyone recovering from addiction.
Upon expressing an interest in the programme, you will be contacted by the programme lead to discuss your individual needs and arrange a time to attend an open event if suitable. If you have any questions in relation to the programme, please complete the enquiry form (link below) or contact [email protected].
