Information Dates and EnrolmentSummary
This qualification offers you a clear pathway to enhance your expertise and become certified as an assessor or trainer. It is tailored for individuals embarking on a new career path or those already engaged in roles involving assessing and quality assurance. You have the flexibility to pursue the full certificate by successfully completing all three units. Alternatively, you can opt to complete individual units to attain the 'Level 3 Award,' allowing you to focus on enhancing specific knowledge or skills that align with your professional needs. Allowing you to choose the units that best suit your objectives and aspirations. Course Units The Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (unit 301), is a knowledge-only award if you are starting your journey as an assessor, or if you need to know about assessment practice but are not currently practising. The Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (unit 302), is for practitioners who assess the demonstration of competence in a work environment using assessment methods, such as; observation, oral questioning and discussion of learner statements. The Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (Unit 303), is for practitioners who assess knowledge and/or skills in vocationally related subject areas using assessment method such as; assessments in simulated environments, tests/oral and written questions, assignments, projects or case studies.
How will I learn?

Through a variety of engaging learning and teaching activities, you'll be introduced to different concepts and gain valuable insights into the role of an assessor. Be ready to actively participate, contribute to discussions, and embrace hands-on activities. This proactive approach will ensure you make the most of the experience, enhancing your knowledge and understanding. To support your studies, you'll need to be in the work environment so that your tutor will be able to conduct observations during their visits to your workplace. This qualification is assessed by observation, witness testimony, interview and discussion, oral and written questions, assignments, projects and case studies.
Entry Requirements
It is essential for unit 302 and 303, that you are in a work environment where you are, or can have access, to carry out assessments and quality assurance in a learning environment. This hands-on experience ensures that you possess a practical understanding of the field. We also suggest that you should have a good level of Maths and English, however this is not a formal requirement. It is recommended that you strive to achieve a Level 2 proficiency in these subjects by the end of your qualification. If you don't already possess this level of proficiency, supplementary courses will be available alongside the main qualification.

Course fees explained
The course fee is usually broken down into three components which are materials (resources required to study the course, for example stationery, books and other equipment), tuition (teaching, classroom etc) and exams. Depending on age, financial circumstances and a number of other factors, you could be asked to pay the full fee or just elements of it. Usually Learners under 19 studying Full-Time courses have just material fees, and if relevant, Academy fees, to pay. Over 19s on Full-Time or Part-Time courses usually have materials, exams and tuition fees to pay.
