AAT is the UK’s leading qualification and membership body for accounting and finance staff; it has over 125,000 members in more than 90 countries worldwide. AAT qualifications provide accounting technician status. Accounting technicians work at all levels of finance, from accounts clerks to finance directors. The Level 2 Certificate is for candidates who have little or no accounting experience or qualifications and are looking to gain a thorough understanding of the fundamental elements of accounting. During the course, candidates will cover the following 5 units: • Processing bookkeeping transactions • Control accounts, journals and the banking system • Basic costing • Computerised accounting (Sage) • Working effectively in accounting and finance
What do I need to join?
Candidates require a Level 2 in Maths and English (A to C grade GCSE or equivalent), and a good standard of general education. A successful interview and assessment will be required prior to enrolling, and these can be completed at our AAT open evening. Level 2 applicants do not require any previous accounting experience prior to enrolling; however, any accounting/business experience will be beneficial.
How will I know how I am doing?
Learning will take place in a classroom environment. Computer-based testing is used for assessment of each of the 5 units, with mock exams taking place during classroom sessions. Final exams, most with instant results, follow the completion of each unit at a date and time to be advised at the start of your course.Apply for this course
