AAT is the UK’s leading qualification and membership body for accounting and finance staff, with over 125,000 members in more than 90 countries worldwide. AAT qualifications provide Accounting Technician status. Accounting Technicians work at all levels of finance, from accounts clerks to finance directors. The Level 2 Foundation Certificate is for candidates who have little or no accounting experience or qualifications and are looking to gain a thorough understanding of the fundamental elements of accounting. During the course, candidates will cover five units including bookkeeping transactions, bookkeeping controls, elements of costing, working in accounting and finance, computerized accounting (Sage).
What do I need to join?
Candidates require a level 2 in Maths & English (A to C Grade GCSE or equivalent), and a good standard of general education. A successful interview and assessment will be required prior to enrolling and these can be completed at our AAT Open Evening. Level 2 applicants do not require any previous accounting experience prior to enrolling however any accounting/business experience will be beneficial.
What can I do next?
