During the course, candidates will cover the following topics: • Principles of accounts preparation for sole traders and partnerships • The extended trial balance • Accounting for fixed assets • Principles of costing • Preparing and completing VAT returns • Professional ethics • Spreadsheet software

What do I need to join?

Candidates will need to have successfully achieved the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping prior to enrolling, and will also require a Level 2 in Maths and English (A to C grade GCSE or equivalent). The course is also open to others who can demonstrate prior bookkeeping experience through a successful interview and assessment. To enrol, please visit one of our AAT open evenings, which are held at various times throughout the year.

How will I know how I am doing?

Learning will take place in a classroom environment, with computer-based testing used for the assessment of each of the 6 units. Mock exams take place during classroom sessions.
