About the course

This is a one year course is for those needing to spend time working on the skills needed to successfully learn within a college environment. This course will support independence and skill development whilst also introducing students to vocational areas to support further progression into the college.

Maths & English
If you do not have a grade 3 or above in GCSE maths and English you wills study these alongside the course, some students will undertake functional skills instead.
What do I need to join
There are no formal qualifications needed to join the course however a keen interest in progressing in to further education is essential.
What can I do next
Progression opportunities could include entry on to a selection of level 2 courses within the wider college.
Additional information
Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of a vocational area whilst also working on skills related to successful study within a college environment. Units can include: - Being Organized - Planning for progression - Positive actions to promote the environment - Working with others - Introduction to science Units offer changes dependent on learner cohort needs.
