Summary
This course is delivered via blended learning.
AAT is the UK’s leading qualification and membership body for accounting and finance staff, with over 125,000 members in more than 90 countries worldwide. AAT qualifications provide Accounting Technician status. Accounting Technicians work at all levels of finance, from accounts clerks to finance directors.
The Level 3 Diploma is for candidates who have successfully completed the AAT Level 2 Certificate, or who have previous accounting qualifications and a good understanding of basic accounting. During the course candidates will cover a number of topics including advanced bookkeeping, final accounts preparation, management accounting (costing), indirect tax, professional ethics for accounts and spreadsheet software.
How will I learn?
Students are provided with a comprehensive set of online learning materials which they work through via an e-platform. For each module this provides tutorials, practice assessment and interactive tasks so the tutor and student can assess progress.
Once every 4 weeks students come into College for 1 hour at a time agreed with your tutor. This is an opportunity to discuss any areas where you need greater support and plan your future learning and assessment. You will need to be reasonably flexible with when you can come in to college.
All exams will be held at either the SGS Filton or Stroud Campus.
Entry Requirements
Candidates require a level 2 in Maths & English (A to C Grade GCSE or equivalent), and a good standard of general education. A successful interview and assessment will be required prior to enrolling and these can be completed at our AAT Open Evening. Level 2 applicants do not require any previous accounting experience prior to enrolling however any accounting/business experience will be beneficial.
You will need to register with the Association of Accounting Technicians
(AAT) at a cost of £48.00, plus annual student membership of £99 (2019/20
rate).
All exam fees (single attempt) are included in the cost of your course.
Textbooks are additional and are ordered from Osborne Books with a 35% discount.
