Summary
Whether you're a singer, songwriter, performer, producer or sound engineer, these courses are designed to help you take your first steps towards a career in the music industry. Industry professionals share their experience to help you develop up-to-date vocational, industry-based skills. You will expand on everything from songwriting and composition to production and events management. Through the use of industry-standard audio equipment, rehearsal and recording facilities, you will be encouraged to participate in all aspects of the real working world. You will develop the skills needed to work in professional environments such as student-led live performances, open mic events, sound for film and games and synthesis. This Level 3 course is based at our Stroud campus in the centre of Gloucestershire, surrounded by the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The campus is a short walk from Stroud train station and easily accessible by bus.
How will I know how I am doing?
You will receive ongoing feedback throughout the duration of the course relating to your project work. You will also be graded for the units covered within each project, providing a continual record of your progress.
What do I need to join?
Five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English or Maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification. As this is both a creative and a technical course, we would also like you to prepare an audition/show or a portfolio of work for your interview.

You will work alongside industry professionals who will give you an insight into the industry. You will end the course by performing in a professional setting at the acclaimed end-of-year music show.
What can I do next?
Some learners progress into higher education, including BA (Hons) degrees at a range of universities, apprenticeships and internships within the creative industries. Other learners become live performers, session musicians, studio engineers, stage crew or work in events promotion.
