Commonly known as 'Photoshopping" you are able to modify just about any aspect of a digital photo. In this four-week introductory course we will not use 'Photoshop' as the software is very expensive and very complex for the beginner. However, using readily available free software you will learn about types of digital image and how to optimise them for web design or for print out.
We will practice the techniques to allow you to crop images, remove marks or blemishes from old photos that you might have scanned. We will alter colour balance, apply artistic effects and even remove items from a photo such as waste bins or those things you didn't notice when taking the photo but you wish weren't there as they ruin a good photo.
This is a beginner's course for those without experience of photo editing but
all the techniques we learn are transferable to Photoshop or other applications
for those that might choose to pursue the subject further.
