This course is the first step on our counselling training programme. It is designed to give learners the underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies to use counselling skills ethically and safely in a variety of contexts and roles. The course can improve personal and professional relationships and involves experiential elements that will require some personal disclosure.

How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based qualification delivered by highly qualified and experienced Counsellors. Throughout this course you will develop a variety of skills and will be required to complete an internal portfolio including:
- Reflective written journals
- Group projects
- Counselling skills practice
- External Assessment
You will need to be an Adult aged 19 or over and ideally have a 3 GCSEs at grade 3 (d), including English Language or be able to demonstrate that you are able to work the required level 2 standard.
You will need to be able to translate your personal experience into language. You must be motivated to personal development and to developing your helping skills.
Acceptance on the course will be subject to attendance/interview at an adult information day with the tutor.
