Information Dates and EnrolmentSummary
This is a Level 1 qualification, aimed at anyone who wants to improve their listening skills and speaking skills, and who wants to have a better understanding of them self and others. By the end of the course, students will develop more empathic listening skills, techniques for more effective communication and an understanding of human emotions. This course is divided into 2 units: Speaking and Listening Skills This covers communication with others and being able to engage in discussions on a range of topics. Emotional Intelligence This covers being able to identify emotions in self and others and developing techniques to deal with these emotions in order to hep others who may be struggling.
How will I learn?
Through a range of activities including class discussions, presentations, Video clips and PowerPoint delivery and worksheets. There will be an ongoing workbook to fill in to gain each of the criteria needed to pass the course. The work will also draw on your own personal and professional experiences.

None. Just a willingness to learn and take on board new ideas.

How can I apply what I've learnt? On a professional level you will be able to listen to work colleagues or clients more effectively, to gain a better understanding of the issues involved. You may be able to help others with their emotional responses to certain situations in the workplace or outside. On a personal level you will learn about yourself, including your responses to events that may happen and have a greater understanding of your emotions and how to control them. You will gain more confidence in communication with others.

Course fees explained
The course fee is usually broken down into three components which are materials (resources required to study the course, for example stationery, books and other equipment), tuition (teaching, classroom etc) and exams. Depending on age, financial circumstances and a number of other factors, you could be asked to pay the full fee or just elements of it. Usually Learners under 19 studying Full-Time courses have just material fees, and if relevant, Academy fees, to pay. Over 19s on Full-Time or Part-Time courses usually have materials, exams and tuition fees to pay.
