Information Apply

Unconditional Places to Full-Time Applicants

Due to the uncertainty around how long the Covid-19 outbreak will last, it has been agreed for the immediate future that we will be offering unconditional places to full-time (not University Level) applicants who apply to SGS College.

Once you apply for your course, you will receive a communication offering you a place.

You just need to accept the offer, if you wish to.

We will then be in touch to discuss the offer once the Covid-19 risk reduces.

Summary

You will study the programme over one year, with friendly and supportive teaching staff. It is an intensive course which aims to help you build the skills and knowledge you need to achieve grade 4 (C) or above in specific subjects. The GCSE programme requires a lot of self-motivation and commitment, but in return we'll be there with you every step of the way. Your future is important to us! We also have a 2 year option for 14-16 year olds. Please contact Susannah Griffiths on 0117 909 2348 or email [email protected] before applying. For further information see the Early College Placement section on our website - www.sgscol.ac.uk/ecp.

What do I need to join?

You don't need to have taken GCSEs before to do this course. Whether you want to retake your GCSEs or you have been home-schooled, you are welcome to apply for this course.

How will I know how I am doing?

You will be taught English language, maths and biology along with one other subject, which will support applications and is required by universities and employers to help set you up for any future career. You will have an assessment at the beginning of the year to ensure that this is the correct course for you.

What can I do next?

After successfully completing the course, there are a number of options available to you, including: • A-levels • Apprenticeships • BTECs • Employment • Foundation degrees • HNC/HNDs • Internships • NVQs For most UK universities, a minimum of 4 GCSE passes at grade 4 (C) or above (including English and Mathematics) are a mandatory requirement.
