Functional Skills are the fundamental skills that you need for your working and personal lives. You can study for the qualifications in practical ways and apply core skills to real-life situations.
On this course, you will brush up your skills and cover topics including working with numbers, understanding fractions, decimals and percentages, working with metric measures and understanding graphs, charts and data.
These courses give you the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification in maths in a welcoming and safe environment. The course requires a commitment of 2 hours per week and you will be expected to attend these weekly lessons where your tutor will set work on an individual or group basis. The course is taught in an environment where learning and self development is key, they tutor is supportive and provides feedback to better your outcome.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom based course, with our core delivery lecturers who are
happy to help, alongside this we have an english and maths extra team who can
provide specific one to one support, advice and guidance pertaining to english
A diagnostic assessment will be carried out, in a controlled environment, to check your current level of understanding in this subject. This may be carried out online or in personal depending on circumstances and available slots.

English and Maths courses start throughout the year. Once you have completed an online enrolment form a member of the team will be in touch to discuss a start date and time that suits your current commitments, with courses running both in the day and evening.
