Want to kickstart your career?

If you are 18-24, currently on Universal Credit and looking to apply for a Kickstart Placement via DWP then why not join our Kickstart Your Employability course?

Stand out from the crowd and be prepared for your placement by joining our one week Kickstart Your Employability course, designed to be taken before you start your Kickstart Placement.

This is a combined course of employability skills and personal social development. The course runs over one week online via Microsoft Teams with on-going one to one support for learners until their interview date.

Learners gain a national recognised qualification which helps develop the knowledge, understanding and essential skills employers look for in employees.

The NCFE Certificate in Employability Skills has been designed to support an individual successfully gaining a job, introducing them to the world of work and to a broad range of essential skills.

The areas covered in the qualification are:

Problem Solving Skills for Work, Work Awareness, Making the Right Impression, Prioritising Tasks, Following Instructions, Managing Conflict at Work, Understanding Money at Work, Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety in Places of Work

Alongside the qualification learners are supported with interview strategies that include how to answer competency-based questions and the principles of how to structure interview questions by using the acronym of CAR – Context Action Result.

Learners participate in a group interview scenario and are given advice and guidance on how to effectively communicate in them. Learners are also offered mock interviews with a constructive feedback and areas for development to support them for individual interviews.
