Due to the uncertainty around how long the Covid-19 outbreak will last, it has been agreed for the immediate future that we will be offering unconditional places to full-time (not University Level) applicants who apply to SGS College.

Once you apply for your course, you will receive a communication offering you a place.

You just need to accept the offer, if you wish to.

We will then be in touch to discuss the offer once the Covid-19 risk reduces.

information

Summary

The aim of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to seven years of age, with applied knowledge in the early years, 0–5 years. The qualification's content meets the Department for Education’s (DfE) Level 2 full and relevant criteria for a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner in the workforce.

How will I know how I am doing?

All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods. Skills-based outcomes will be achieved with reference to a real work environment and will include direct observation within the workplace.

What do I need to join?

Learners will have GCSE grade 4 English or Maths and grade 3 in the other, plus 2 other GCSEs at grade 4. They will also need a clear DBS certificate and a good academic reference.

Maths & English

All learners with a grade 3 in either Maths or English will be required to resit their GCSE alongside the vocational course.

Work Experience

Learners will need to complete one day a week in an early years setting.
