The course offers a gentle introduction to a range of painting, drawing, and printmaking activities in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. The aim is to support learning and enjoyment and facilitate a basic understanding of techniques and is suitable for beginners or students wishing to re-engage with their artistic side. Each student will be encouraged to develop at their own pace to fully explore their individual creative expression guided and supported by an enthusiastic and encouraging tutor. Using materials such as watercolours, inks, acrylics, pencil, pastel etc. You will learn the skills necessary to develop confidence in your own individual creativity at a pace to suit you. We may work with subject matter such as landscapes, still life, portraits, or abstract work and at times look at artist’s work to inspire and inform your own work.
How will I learn?
Our classes provide a nurturing and encouraging environment where you can learn and grow. The tutor will guide you through various techniques and projects, ensuring that you feel supported. You will have the opportunity to experiment with different materials and subjects, allowing you to find your unique artistic voice.

These courses are employability skills funded which means to be fully funded you have to meet a certain criteria. We are able to offer a co funded tiered system for those who don’t meet the criteria. Fully funded: low income below £23,400, JSA,ESA, UC cap: joint claim £988, sole claim £617 £40: carers allowance, PIP, state pensions, Attendance allowance, Income under 27k, evidence of food bank vouchers, UC cap: joint £1188, sole £817 £50: income 27 – 30k £75: income over 30k

Course fees explained
The course fee is usually broken down into three components which are materials (resources required to study the course, for example stationery, books and other equipment), tuition (teaching, classroom etc) and exams. Depending on age, financial circumstances and a number of other factors, you could be asked to pay the full fee or just elements of it. Usually Learners under 19 studying Full-Time courses have just material fees, and if relevant, Academy fees, to pay. Over 19s on Full-Time or Part-Time courses usually have materials, exams and tuition fees to pay.
