Summary

This course is for electricians, designers and inspectors.The qualification covers the full content of BS 7671: IET Wiring Regulations Eighteenth Edition. The regulations apply to the design, erection and verification of electrical installations, and also additions and alterations to existing installations.

The depth of the course will vary depending on whether you have enrolled on the short version or full delivery model.

The qualification will help you gain an understanding of the skills required within the electrotechnical sector. You will cover compulsory aspects such as: 

  • Working safely and effectively 
  • Design, construct, test and commission electrical systems 
  • Methods of supervision 
  • Electrical science and principles 
  • Regulations and law 
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults. 

How will I learn?

This course will be assessed by carrying out practical assessments and online examinations.

Entry Requirements

Those who wish to work as an electrician in the building services industry and have completed a Level 2. 

It has been designed to deliver a high level of occupational skills and provide a platform from which to progress through further learning or into employment. This vocational route at level 3 is a vital step towards becoming a competent electrician.   This qualification does not fully qualify you, you need NVQ3 and AM2 after.

A GSCE Grade 4/C is required in English and Maths to carry out the course.
