Summary
This course is for learners who do not currently work within the electrical industry but may wish to do so, or for those who wish to develop their understanding and skills of electrical installation. The qualification will not automatically make the individual an electrician, but will facilitate progression onto an industry-recognised qualification. The guided learning hours are between 459 and 480, depending on which optional unit you choose. This qualification allows the learner to acquire advanced underpinning knowledge and related skills in electrical installation. The qualification has mandatory and optional units. The mandatory units cover electrical installation design, environmental technology systems, electrical science and principles, electrical installation craft, inspection, testing and commissioning, and diagnosing and correcting electrical faults. Candidates will sit a range of online, multiple-choice exams, practical assessments and written assignments. The course runs on a Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. The course cost is £3345.
How will I know how I am doing?
A variety of assessment methods will be used to measure your progress from your start point and against your expected outcomes and target grade. These may include practical tasks and assessments, written assignments, performance reviews, presentations and discussions.
Progress will be discussed with your tutor and other delivery staff on the programme.
How will I learn?
Our dedicated construction department offer a hands-on learning environment, allowing learners to engage and develop skills within a construction site style setting. All courses are delivered by passionate and dedicated staff with a qualified trade background. All the material and equipment you will use matches the tools available on construction sites.

Entry Requirements
This course has no formal entry requirements however should have a keen interest in the subject area. You will also need to be committed, punctual and demonstrate an enthusiam for learning.
While also taking on new ideas and skills to help you reach your full protential within the trade. Ideally, learners will have completed a EAL Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation or be able to demonstrate knowledge of the trade and complete a skills assessment and details about this will be provided.
If you successfully gain a place on this exciting construction course you will be expected to wear safety boots on site at all times, these must have steel toe caps and meet regulations.

Maths & English
A key requirement for future progression and employment is a good understanding and application of knowledge and skills in both English and maths.
Learners who are enrolled on this course may also, as part of their overall programme of study, be enrolled on GCSE English and Maths in order to progress towards gaining GCSE grade 4 in both subjects.
What can I do next?
Learners who successfully complete the programme could enter the industry or continue with their studies and take on one of our 18th Edition or inspection and testing courses.
