This is a 1-year course for candidates who work or want to work in the electrical sector. You will learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the electrical sector. You will cover the following skills: • Environment awareness • Electrical and electronic testing methods • Systems and devices • Electrical installation • Wiring and circuit protection • Basic electrical circuits • Inspection and testing • Fault diagnosis The course runs on a Monday and Tuesday as a day option, and a Tuesday and Wednesday as an evening option. The total cost of the course is £1750.
What do I need to join?
You will have 2 GCSEs at grade 3 or above in Maths and English.
How will I know how I am doing?
Targets will be set and agreed with your tutor throughout the year, and you will receive regular feedback and one-to-one progress reviews with your tutor to ensure that you are on track to achieve your goals. Your practical skills will be assessed through portfolio-based assessments. You will also take a multiple-choice theory exam.
What can I do next?
After successful completion, you can progress into employment or onto a Level 3 NVQ.Apply for this course
