Summary

Electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial, and domestic environments, working both indoors and outdoors. Their tasks include handling switchboards, motors, cables, fuses, relays, fault current protection switches, heating, lighting, air conditioning, metering equipment, alarm systems, and renewable energy technologies. Electricians work independently, efficiently, and economically, often contributing to system design. They interpret drawings and specifications, requisition materials, and ensure all installations are safe and compliant with safety standards. Installation Electricians focus on low voltage (under 1000v) devices, while Maintenance Electricians oversee and repair electrical systems, including automated production equipment.

Maths & english
This apprenticeship requires learners to achieve maths and English at Level 2. At interview, we will carry out an assessment to determine current literacy and numeracy levels. We will take account of any support needs in determining the suitability of learners for this apprenticeship.
