This course is for those who wish to further their career in the electrotechnical sector, or for electricians who wish to carry out inspection, testing and commissioning, and periodic inspection, testing and condition reporting. This qualification covers the application of knowledge involved with the inspection and testing of electrical installations. Each award has one unit which covers the necessary learning outcomes for initial verification, and/or periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations. This includes learning outcomes about safe isolation, inspection, safe testing, pre-energised and energised tests, documentation and the practical use of test equipment. The course runs as a day option at our Filton Campus and an evening option at our Stroud Campus. Days to be agreed at the start of the course. The cost of the course is £650.
What do I need to join?
No formal requirements, but you must be able to understand and use technical language associated with the electrical industry.
How will I know how I am doing?
Candidates will sit two online multiple-choice exams and will be required to undertake practical aspects.
What can I do next?
After successful completion, you can progress onto EAL Level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations or EAL 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.Apply for this course
