These classes, seated on chairs, are designed for people who may find traditional yoga classes unsuitable due to impaired mobility, or those who simply enjoy a gentle, meditative class. You will be encouraged to take the movements and intensity at your own pace, adapting where needed. There are many benefits to seated yoga. Increased flexibility and strength, it reduces stress and is great for improved pain management and helps to improve sleep. Increasing your awareness of your breathing helps with anxiety and calms the nervous system reducing blood pressure and heart rates.
What do I need to join?
No previous experience is needed, and the instructor will guide you through the class offering any modifications if they are needed. All you need is comfortable clothing, and all props are provided. Chair yoga allows you to hold the poses for longer and as its 'portable' you can practise in your own home as well.
