This course is a first-step course to learn some IT skills to help you navigate the technological world in your day to day life. Computers can enhance your life and today's society is seeing everything changing to online from banking, booking holidays and even the weekly shop. This course is a fantastic option for anyone looking to nicrease their skills.
Working at a gentle pace, you will cover switching on the computer, using a mouse, navigating the computer and moving onto using the internet to search on Google, storing your information safely on your computer, how to stay safe online, using emails and storing/sending photos.
You will be introduced to using social media like Facebook and auction sites like eBay
How will I know how I am doing?
The course is paced at a level suitable to a beginners class. Your tutor will give you plenty of helpful feedback and guidance throughout the course.
In this class you will go at your own pace, it is not a class where you will compare yourself with anyone else. Everyone comes to computers with a different background and experience, and everyone learns to use them at a different pace.
The tutor will encourage you to set yourself small, realistic goals during the course. We know that learning a new skill can be daunting but in this safe environment, practice makes perfect and we encourage you to not shy away from repeating the things you’re learning time and time again until you feel you’ve got it. Its a great place to make mistakes without judgement, but with support and guidance .
This course has no entry requirements, we just ask you have a passion for the subject.

The choosen platform for the online elements of this course is Microsoft Teams. Teams allows learners and teachers to seamlessly work together, create content and share resources from a single, easy-to-learn and simple platform. On successful enrolment onto this course you will be provided with all the details required to set up Teams.
This course does not have a fee that is payable on enrolment if you are from the EU or have been a resident in the UK for 3 years.
