Tuition Fees

16-18

Between the ages of 16-18 you do not need to pay tuition or exam fees for your course.

19-23

If you are between the ages of 19 and 23 and have not achieved a full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification before, then you may be entitled to a Legal Entitlement to cover the cost of your tuition, exam and material fees.

19+ (English or Maths Course etc.)

If you are 19 or over and taking an English or Maths course up to an including Level 2, and have not previously achieved a GCSE Grade A* to C or grade 4 or higher, then you may be entitled to a Legal Entitlement to cover the cost of your tuition, exam and material fees.

19+ (Level 2 Course or Below etc.)

If you are aged 19 or over and studying a level 2 course or below, you may be entitled to a Low Income/Benefit Waiver. If awarded, this Waiver will cover your tuition, exam and material fees.

19+ (Level 3 Course or Above etc.)

If you are aged 19 or over and studying on a level 3 course or above, and the Level 3 Legal Entitlement does not apply, you will need to pay the full cost of the course. You may however be eligible to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with the tuition fees.

Please make arrangements to pay your course fee costs at the time of enrolment. Payment is due prior to the start of your course. The option to pay via an instalment plan is available if required. Please contact the College directly for the most up to date course fees – these may be subject to change.

Summary

This course provides an outstanding base for your progression into employment, higher education or starting your own business. Our experienced team will offer you expert support to start your own business ventures within the course, so you will have the confidence, skills and knowledge to succeed. The programme includes a number of educational visits, along with locally based activities at a variety of regional businesses. You will learn through participating in interesting ventures, such as raising funds for charity, and use real-time business skills to put into practice your learning from this course.

  • Principles of management
  • Business decision-making

  • Employment law

What do I need to join?

You will need at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, including English and Maths.

How will I know how I am doing?

The course is assessed through assignments, controlled assessment and examination. You will receive continuous progress reviews, along with full and regular feedback from your tutor to ensure you are on track and ready for your next step. Feedback will be verbal, written or electronic and is designed to support you on your course.

Maths & English

Opportunities to upskill in both English and maths are provided, and feedback is given to learners on their strengths and areas for improvement.

Employability

The course is designed to improve your employability skills through the main qualification units, guest speakers, enrichment trips and work experience.

Work Experience

We encourage and provide support to those who wish to gain experience in the world of business and can offer contacts to assist with arranging this. You will have the opportunity to complete a work placement in the business field.

What can I do next?

You can progress into higher education, Level 2, 3 or 4 apprenticeships, employment or even starting your own business. Previous students have successfully progressed onto studying business, marketing, economics, accounting and law at university.

What are my career options?

The variety of units studied during this qualification can be applied to any chosen career and will open many doors. The practical experience you gain will prepare and equip you for work and life.
