This popular course is designed for both men and women who wish to pursue a career in the beauty sector. You need to have already achieved a Level 2 in Beauty Therapy and you will develop the existing technical skills and knowledge learnt at Level 2 to an advanced level, along with advanced facial and massage techniques.
Modules covered may include face and body electricals, body massage, microdermabrasion, anatomy and physiology and epilation.
What do I need to join?
You will have 3 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English, and you will have successfully completed Level 2 Beauty Therapy. Alongside this, learners must be able to demonstrate excellent manual dexterity and communication skills.
How will I know how I am doing?
You will be assessed through observation of practical assessments, assignments and written examinations. You will also work with members of the general public, who visit our salons and often provide feedback about their treatments. Regular reviews with your tutor will provide you with feedback on your progress.
Maths & English
A key requirement for obtaining many jobs is to achieve a good standard of English and maths. Therefore learners that do not yet have a GCSE grade C will be enrolled on either GCSE or functional skills programmes alongside their course.
The skills gained from this course will enable you to work in spas, beauty salons, cruise ships or even start up your own business.
To gain the industrial experience for employment, you will be expected to have a work placement for specific hours throughout the course. Your tutor will discuss this with you in more detail.
