You will be designing and completing projects based on your own ideas. There will be opportunities to experiment with different techniques and media along the way. I will give you an overview at the start of each course, and you are welcome to include your own ideas and projects if you wish. Some students are keen to try lots of new things; others use the classes for their own 'creative time', away from the demands of everyday life.
How will I know how I am doing?
At the start of each term I will check what skills and interests you already have, so I can give you specific guidance and ideas to develop your work. The group will be limited to 12 students to allow time for individual feedback and support, and you will have plenty of time to ask questions and check your progress. I would strongly advise you to keep a sketchbook for recording your ideas and samples as you go along, so you can measure your own progress. At the end of the year, students’ work from every course will be exhibited in the School of Art Summer Show – it’s a real highlight, especially if you haven’t had your work on display before!Apply for this course
