Slip Cast Ceramics Level 1

The purpose of the class is to teach students the process of slip casting.  This industrial approach will allow you to make identical multiples of the same product and hone your mould making skills. Ideal for people who want to further their ceramic making skills, learn new terminology and get to know how to use plaster.  You will also learn to use decorating slip and glaze application.

This class is suitable for both beginners and people who already have knowledge within the subject.

What do I need to join?

This course has no entry requirements, we just ask you have a passion for the subject. If you have any questions regarding entry requirements please email [email protected] before completing an online application.

How will I learn?

Students will be guided through the basic principles of mould making, slip casting, and glazing. A project will be offered, but you may come with your own ideas. More experienced students will negotiate projects with the tutor. Discussion sessions around work in progress, exhibitions and ceramic work will help to clarify ideas.
