Join us for a week of making pots and glazing and firing them
Raku is a traditional Japanese ceramic process which uses a small kiln to glaze-fire pots before your eyes, placing and removing them from the hot kiln with tongs as the glazes melt. Pots coming out of the kiln can be cooled in various ways - the American smokey method cooling pots in wood-shaving adds drama and colour.
We will make simple hand-built pots during the first half of the week so that we can then fire them later.
