Summary
Raku is a traditional Japanese ceramic process which uses a small kiln to glaze-fire pots before your eyes, placing and removing them from the hot kiln with tongs as the glazes melt. Pots coming out of the kiln are plunged into wood-shaving to drama and colour. Hot, smokey and exciting.
The plan is to fit the whole process into the five days.
We will make on Monday and Tuesday - get the resulting pieces biscuit-fired on the Wednesday – and then glaze and fire on Thursday and Friday.
