This printmaking course offers a diverse approach to image making and development. Students will be encouraged to bring in their own drawings, photographs and found imagery to create a wealth of prints using many techniques. Students will explore monoprinting, etching (card and copper), wood, lino cuts and silk screen techniques to include paper stencils, open screen monos and photo stencils. Through examples and demonstrations, the group will be able to develop their skills safely to use a host of print skills and specialised equipment (e.g. etching presses, hot plates, oil-based inks and high-quality papers). The course will introduce the different techniques, allowing for hands-on experimentation.
