Summary
The Level 4 Professional Diploma in Creative Enterprise has been designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to develop their careers as creative professionals. This qualification will provide students with an opportunity to cultivate their employability by developing their creative enterprise skills and expanding their contact base, whilst developing their start-up projects and professional practice. The qualification is suitable for students who have an interest in starting up their own project or company and who wish to explore and extend their creative practice via an immersive learning experience. This qualification can be used as a starting point for students who have identified a specific project that they wish to work on, or to enable them to explore the basis of entrepreneurial activity by developing essential business and management skills in order to identify and respond to business opportunities in the creative sector. The intended purpose of the qualification is to provide students with the opportunity to fast track into employment or self-employment in the creative industries and may support progression into higher education. This course is based at our Stroud campus in the centre of Gloucestershire, surrounded by the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The campus is a short walk from Stroud train station and easily accessible by bus.
What do I need to join?
There are no age restrictions for this qualification, although the general expectation is that learners will be 18+ when they start this qualification, with most having completed A-levels, Level 3 Extended Diplomas or a relevant apprenticeship.
What can I do next?
Students completing the qualification may progress into: 1. Employment – students completing this may also start their own business or progress into roles in the creative industries, such as: Freelance creative work Account management Creative agency positions Consultancy Talent management Art direction Production 2. Higher education – the qualification will support students to develop a portfolio of work, enabling them to progress into higher education courses at SGS and beyond.
