he UAL Awarding Body Level 2 Award in Digital Art and Design has been developed to provide students with an interest in digital creativity, art and design with the opportunity to explore different creative disciplines, methods, processes and to introduce theoretical skills that underpin creative digital practices. This course is also a potential stepping stone into further progression Arts studies for students wishing to progress into further education in the future, such as Access to HE level 3 Art and Design. This course is intended to provide students with an early test of their commitment, motivation and interest in the subject of Digital art and design. It also provides an opportunity for to explore and develop skills, knowledge and understanding of a digital arts practice and introduces design software to create posters, flyers etc as well as how to design for laser cutting, 3D printing projects.
How will I learn?
Throughout the course, students will engage in a series of practical projects and critical studies, guided by an experienced tutor who is passionate about the subject and dedicated to nurturing students' artistic growth. Students will develop their practical digital skills and expand their own creative responses to a brief. The course is firstly focused on skills workshops, learning different creative digital practices, skills and techniques informed by research. In the second part of the course, students will be responding to a creative brief and using the techniques and skills they have learnt to create a visual digital portfolio of work and knowledge.
Entry Requirements
No previous experience is required, all we ask is that students have an interest in digital creativity, art and design, and be willing to explore different techniques.
Additional Information
This course can be free for students who are on certain benefits or a low income, you may also claim for a bursary for the material costs; for those that are not eligible for a fee waiver, the course is co-funded.

Course fees explained
The course fee is usually broken down into three components which are materials (resources required to study the course, for example stationery, books and other equipment), tuition (teaching, classroom etc) and exams. Depending on age, financial circumstances and a number of other factors, you could be asked to pay the full fee or just elements of it. Usually Learners under 19 studying Full-Time courses have just material fees, and if relevant, Academy fees, to pay. Over 19s on Full-Time or Part-Time courses usually have materials, exams and tuition fees to pay.
