Summary

Students have the opportunity to be self-directed in their chosen path of enquiry, with support and challenges from the tutor. Each student is encouraged to further progress their skills and knowledge by working through technical problems with the advice of the tutor. Historical and contemporary influences are advised for ‘homework’, supported by the wide selection of specialist books and magazines found in the library and classroom. Students will have access to electric kilns for earthenware and gas-fired kilns for stoneware, plus a termly raku firing.

How will I learn?

Some previous experience is required for the intermediate classes as much of the work is self directed and experimentation is encouraged.  This can be from our beginners class or experience from elsewhere. Please check with us if you are not sure.
