Summary

Looking to get back into work? Why not get set for entering employment physically and mentally prepared with our new and exciting Exercise on Prescription course.

Exercise on Prescription is designed to equip you with the knowledge and support to develop your health, wellbeing and fitness to enter employment or your next steps in further study.
The programme is best suited to individuals who have been prescribed exercise by their GP or unemployed individuals who are looking to improve their health, wellbeing and fitness.

The 12- week programme will include:

  • An Induction and personal goal setting session
  • 1 x hour weekly physical activity session
  • Nutrition, resilience and health related group workshops
  • Monthly tracking against targets and tutorials
  • An exit interview to include progression signposting to further opportunities

Led by a team of sport and mental wellbeing professionals, you will develop skills and techniques for leading a healthy lifestyle, as well as having an opportunity to connect with others, reap the mental health benefits of physical activity and have a clear and supportive self-development strategy.

How will I learn?

The programme will be delivered by our experienced team of sport and mental health professionals, to provide you with an ideal blend of sport and wellbeing knowledge. Exercise on Prescription will prioritise a collaborative approach to learning, ensuring your needs and goals are of central importance to our delivery.

This course is based at our dynamic and exciting WISE Campus in Stoke Gifford. Located within easy reach of the city of Bristol and moments away from Bristol Parkway and Bristol Abbey Wood train stations.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible to study this course you must meet the following entry requirements.

  • You must be aged 19 or over as of 31/08/20.
  • You must have lived in the EU for the last three years.
  • You must currently reside in a BS postcode (Bristol/South Gloucestershire).
