The Level 1 Certificate in Fit to Study Sport, Fitness and Leisure is designed to provide you with the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to help prepare you for employment within the industry.
The programme explores a range of modules including:
- Taking part in exercise & fitness to prepare for work
- Working in sport and actice leisure
- Anayomy and physiology
- Planning a healthy diet
- Career planning
- Skills for creative thinkers
- Using and communicating data
The qualification is designed for individuals who are looking for an opportunity which allows them to step foot into the world of sport, fitness and active leisure. You will develop an understanding of different training methods, explore the anatomy and physiology of our bodies and learn how to maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle. You will also learn about nutrition and how to fuel your body for success within a work setting. Learners will also use basic numeracy to assess and interpret data related to your performance.
How will I learn?
The course is delivered over a 6-week period and is a combination of face-to-face delivery with supported online learning. For this you must have suitable IT access to complete the course through our delivery platform. One module will be covered per week over a 3-hour period.
This course does not have any minimum entry requirements. You must however be aged 19 or over (no upper age limit).

What can I do next?
On completion of the programme you will recieve 10 weeks of FREE online fitness sessions. Here, you will experience bespoke training sessions that you will be able to participate in from your own home. These sessions will be pre-recorded and are designed to explore you to new training methods and help to ensure you are fit and well before looking for employment.

Teams allows learners and teachers to seamlessly work together, create content and share resources from a single, easy-to-learn and simple platform. On successful enrolment onto this course you will be provided with all the details required to set up Teams.
