SGS College offers its Art Studios to local volunteers providing PPE to NHS hospitals and care workers
Sew Scrubs Gloucestershire and Cotswold Scrubs have joined together to offer NHS hospitals and community care providers with PPE scrubs, hats and laundry bags. Cotswold Curtains & Interiors in Stroud have been kindly ordering fabric and their volunteers are cutting the patterns and sending out kits to make for an economic and streamlined process.
These items have been urgently requested and over 400 makers have signed up to sew from their homes across Gloucestershire. Sew Scrubs Gloucestershire and Cotswold Scrubs have been hospital approved and are now an official NHS provider and are fundraising to be able to offer the PPE for free.
Kath Maeso, a Sew Scrubs Gloucestershire volunteer who works at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College commented: “We have been overwhelmed by the number of requests from both individuals and hospitals who are desperate for scrubs to keep them safe. This week we have had an order for 2000 sets for the Gloucestershire Hospitals Foundation Trust and hundreds of requests from GP practices, care home workers and district nurses to name but a few. Due to handling large quantities of fabric we have been offered the use of our Arts Studio at SGS College which has meant a much more efficient process and experience.”
