SGS Athletes Come First in Weekend Competitions

Two athletes currently studying at SGS College have excelled this weekend. Toby Conibear competed at the Yate & District AC closed competition and Stephanie Brooks took part in the Gloucester Championship.

Toby, consolidating his recent form in the hammer throw, hit an impressive 58m22. This is less than 1m down on his new personal best, putting him in 2nd place. He also achieved 1st place with 10m63 throw in the shot putt, over 1m up on his previous personal best which he achieved in 2019.

Stephanie Brooks was also in good form at the Gloucester Championships finishing in 1st place with a new personal best in the 100-meter hurdles with 17.6 seconds. She also placed 1st in the shot putt.

Andrea Garcia-Lock, Head Coach said:

"These two athletes are competing really well this year and Toby has hit over 60m twice which is great for the summer season. These two athletes are doing really well this year and are showing there is a lot more to come."
