Twelve students currently studying business at SGS College have started a six week internship in Prague.
The learners have secured placements in some of the leading and cutting edge organisations the country has to offer including: The British Chambers of Commerce, ASTRA ASIA, ANDERSON WILLINGER, IVANA ROSOVA and MALL.CZ.

Working in various sectors, the students will be conducting market research, analysing recruitment profiles, setting up social media platforms and arranging promotional events to name a few of the tasks.

Student Sean Leonard aged 19 from Bristol is undertaking his placement at Mall.CZ. “The programme seems brilliant. To be able to be employed for 6 weeks and visit a city like Prague, whilst it's all funded for is an opportunity that I feel very lucky to have.”

“Over the next 5/6 weeks I would like to grow my confidence. During those weeks I'd also like to create some memories with the great group of people I'm sharing this incredible opportunity with. In terms of my placement, I'd like to gain a better insight into I'm the business environment and be able to contribute and help the business I am working for. I also wouldn't mind improving my skills in the kitchen, as well as other tasks like ironing and washing whilst I stay in Prague.”

Student Jack Odey aged 18 from Bristol is undertaking his placement at CERGE-EI. He commented: “My placement said they wanted to teach me how to edit their website, hopefully I will be able to have some more involvement in some events that they’re running and be able to be taught some more advanced things in marketing.”

Sue Scantlebury, Tutor and Organiser commented: “The students are all settled into their new ‘homes’ and work placements and are enjoying their new way of life. The opportunities presented to the students have far surpassed our expectations in every respect. We wish them the best of luck.”
