Whether you're a top-level athlete or you just want to give something a go, you can get involved with Athletics here at SGS Sport. We have Elite level through to school level athletes that join us each year, as well as our new SGS Improvement centre for athletes within the secondary school age who are striving for a high performance level, in addition to their club training and high performing school athletes who want to progress to a club. We also run a grass roots level junior club for primary and secondary school age and work with a variety of partners to run adult running sessions.
‘Hidden Talent’ - An Athletics Taster Day
Saturday 17th July 2021
In every school across the country there is hidden athletic talent - children who don’t even know how good they are. This approach is all about giving them a chance to find out.
In a joint initiative with top athletics club, Bristol & West AC, we are asking secondary schools across the South West to flag this opportunity to children that they think might have what it takes to excel in athletics.
If you believe there is a child or children in your school who could be a real talent on the track or field, we would like to hear from you. But here’s the difference. The invitation to attend this athletics taster day is only open to children who are not currently with an athletic club or coach. That’s the only criteria - we are looking for hidden talent.
The cost will be £5 for one event or £6 for two. Maximum two events.
Events on the day: Timetable TBC
Track: 100m/200m (150 for u13’s)/300/800/1500
