Job Reference 1762663Business Administration ApprenticeshipThe Families in Focus team is made up of Family Support Workers, Keyworkers, social workers and youth workers, as well as specialists in drugs and alcohol, domestic abuse, mental health, employment and parenting.
This team works together to support children and families with complex needs in North Bristol to achieve positive outcomes. The role of the business apprentice would be to support the team with administrative tasks such as responding to phone and email communication, processing referrals into the team, and financial tasks. The team are supportive and friendly and will provide the apprentice with full support in their role and their apprenticeship.
Purpose of Job:
As an apprentice you will work towards gaining a level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship. Under the supervision of the line manager to provide general business and/or administrative support as required to the Families in Focus Team.
Duties / Key Outcomes:
Assisting in providing specialist business administration support to internal staff and partners
Helping to co-ordinate projects and initiatives
Assisting with the review of processes and implementing change
Helping to monitor the service compliance in line with local guidance and legislation
Basic word and data processing using IT systems
Responding to routine correspondence
Collecting, distributing documents and maintaining records/filing
Basic financial and statistical calculations / handling team finances
Being able to communicate clearly, accurately and in ways that provide understanding
Using Microsoft Office applications or equivalent and have a willingness to learn new technologies
Abilities & Aptitudes
Work quickly but also pay attention to detail
Good practical skills
Use spoken and written communication skills to answer face to face or telephone enquiries
Work cooperatively as part of a team
Handle information securely and confidentially
Be very safety conscious and be methodical in the way you work
Follow written and verbal instructions
Work in direct contact with members of the public where there may be emotive issues in challenging circumstances
Demonstrate knowledge and/or experience of equalities and diversity issues
Attend college, typically one day per week, and study for Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship
English & maths at GCSE or equivalent grades 4-9 (A-C)
To work within the council and study for further qualifications
