Job Reference 1740412IT ApprenticeWe require a full-time IT Apprentice who will carry out 1st & second line IT support duties in school whilst working towards the Information Communications Technician (Support Technician) standard.

Apprenticeship Summary

In addition to your academic study, you will work as part of a team providing 1st & 2nd line IT Support to staff and students.

Typical examples of the work carried out will include:

  • Ensuring that all jobs are logged and recorded on the schools Helpdesk system
  • Meeting SLA’s
  • Operating system deployment
  • Laptop, Chromebook, and PC repairs
  • Preventative maintenance on classroom equipment
  • Creating and maintaining user accounts across a range of systems
  • Assisting staff with the use of classroom equipment
  • Assisting the IT Manager with maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and other projects during the school holidays

Desired qualifications

Although GCSE at grades A*-C / 9-4  (or equivalent) in maths, English Language are desirable, and knowledge or use of ICT preferred, Rednock School will also consider applicants who are willing to develop these through additional training to include Functional Skills as part of the apprenticeship programme.

Having the right attitude, work ethic and commitment to your education as well as your employment are essential requirements to this role.

IT Support work often needs doing outside of normal working hours.

Schools can be a challenging environment to work in, especially for those who have only just left school.
