Job Reference 1740412IT ApprenticeWe require a full-time IT Apprentice who will carry out 1st & second line IT support duties in school whilst working towards the Information Communications Technician (Support Technician) standard.
In addition to your academic study, you will work as part of a team providing 1st & 2nd line IT Support to staff and students.
Typical examples of the work carried out will include:
Ensuring that all jobs are logged and recorded on the schools Helpdesk system
Operating system deployment
Laptop, Chromebook, and PC repairs
Preventative maintenance on classroom equipment
Creating and maintaining user accounts across a range of systems
Assisting staff with the use of classroom equipment
Assisting the IT Manager with maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and other projects during the school holidays
The ability to be accurate, methodical, and to clearly document processes
Organisational skills in relation to systems, users and equipment
An interest and enthusiasm for development and innovation in IT
Willingness and adaptability in tackling the variety of tasks arising in a school environment
The ability to be innovative and to work as part of a team
The ability to work comfortably with students, teachers and parents
Willingness to keep up to date with the latest technologies
Although GCSE at grades A*-C / 9-4 (or equivalent) in maths, English Language are desirable, and knowledge or use of ICT preferred, Rednock School will also consider applicants who are willing to develop these through additional training to include Functional Skills as part of the apprenticeship programme.
Having the right attitude, work ethic and commitment to your education as well as your employment are essential requirements to this role.
